Alert! Say the postures of the three Sandhill Cranes watching the Blue Heron. The Sandhill crane family has taken over the comfortable grass island at the mouth of Willow Creek at University Bay. They have many visitors, such swallows and ducks, but they seemed to be a little startled when the Blue Heron came so close. Hunting for fish, frogs and other edible creatures is excellent in the shallows water. On the misty morning the day before, even the elusive Green Heron ventured here and caught a hearty breakfast. Various sandpipers are visiting the sandbar further out in the Bay.
