Gisela,

Been poking around some more. If possible, see if there's an option to expand the thumbnail photos that are supporting the pages. If they can be made to expand with a click... it would be nice.

Gisela,
Learning to leave a comment.
The home page tab for the video does not play on my iPad. The link goes to black page, no play buttons

Gisela,

You're off to a great start. Bravo! You asked for feedback, so here are a few suggestions and bugs to fix:

-- I would tell people right up in the top banner where the Lakeshore Nature Preserve is. Otherwise, they may search quite a bit (as I did, before spotting the description in the introductory paragraph) to find out. What's more, If you plug the university's name into the banner, it automatically appears on every page of your site, which orients anyone who doesn't begin on your home page.

To do this, I would insert a line of smaller type, flush left with and directly below the main heading (Friends of the Lakeshore Nature Preserve), that reads, simply, "University of Wisconsin-Madison." It could be in black (or white, or perhaps even the gray used in the navigational links below the banner) against the burnt orange background -- whatever looks best to your eye. You may need to enlarge the banner a bit vertically to accommodate the extra line of type.

-- Brief captions describing what we see in photos in the blog would help, though they're not essential, especially if the accompanying text more or less does the job. I probably would try to add single-phrase captions below photos or insert longer ones in "hover over" format, which appear in other pages of the website.

-- When I click on the "Comment On Website" link under "Categories" in the right-hand column, I land on a page with just the original blog post, no comments or form where I can leave one. If that's not so on your own computer (or others), it could be a browser compatibility issue that's fixable. I use the latest version of Firefox.

That's it so far. Hope this helps.

Tom
